For visitors from abroad, one of the pleasures of visiting France is to enjoy wandering through a traditional French Market. And why not! The market, “le marché,” is an integral part of life in virtually all French towns and large villages, so much so that even today the market can be seen as a well surviving part of France’s historic heritage. Today we will buy fresh produce, cheeses at the Cucuron Market and such to begin our week of cooking. Once back at the ‘ranch’ you will have your first cooking lesson, the product of which will be served for dinner.

Mount St. Victorie

A medium level 2.5 -3 hr. hike on the beautiful white limestone mountin known as “Cezanne’s mountain,” picnic lunch, wine tasting and tour of the vineyard at Saint Ser, a hillside winery at the foothills of Mt. Saint Victoire.

Entice your senses…

In the light of a privileged climate, Aix-en-Provence is a city of elegance revealed over lively streets and squares. History here is a daily scene, where one combines the pleasures of shopping, the architectural beauties, the city strolls and Baroque wonders. Each fountain has its secrets, each mansion its stories. Aix-en-Provence is full of colors, festivals and traditions, markets of Provence, sunny streets and nature walks.

The colors of Cezanne is more than an experience, it is an encounter with the painter as you live among the places and landscapes that have marked the life, the look and the work of the father of modern painting. Embracing you in any season, the city invites you with so much to see, to feel, to discover.

We will spend time at one of the largest markets in Provence, followed by a walking city tour.

Friday, Day Five – Les Baux de Provence
Morning Yoga

We will take an excursion to Les Baux de Provence, a medieval picturesque hilltop village in Provence, where we will visit the Carrières de Lumières, an old quarry turned extraordinary film studio where it was decided that the huge rock walls of the quarry would form the backdrop for a fabulous sound and light show (immersive art).

Saturday, Day Six

Evening Cooking Workshop

Sunday, Day Seven – Château La Coste

We will begin with a guided art and architecture walk through wooded hilltops and valleys, alongside olive groves and vineyards, discovering the many installations of contemporary art along the way.  You will also have time to explore the art galleries and have lunch at Tado Ando Café or the outdoor terrace café before taking the guided wine making and tasting tour.
