Monday, Day Two – Aix-en-Provence

After breakfast enjoy your day at leisure in Aix en Provence.

Entice your senses…

In the light of a privileged climate, Aix-en-Provence is a city of elegance revealed over lively streets and squares. History here is a daily scene, where one combines the pleasures of shopping, the architectural beauties, the city strolls and Baroque wonders. Each fountain has its secrets, each mansion its stories. Aix-en-Provence is full of colors, festivals and traditions, markets of Provence, sunny streets and nature walks.

The colors of Cezanne is more than an experience, it is an encounter with the painter as you live among the places and landscapes that have marked the life, the look and the work of the father of modern painting. Embracing you in any season, the city invites you with so much to see, to feel, to discover.

This evening we will journey to the famous Luberon Valley to a Michelin starred restaurant where the chef will prepare meals rich in flavor and from the freshest ingredients, all accompanied by great wines from the south of France.

Tuesday, Day Three – Market Day

For visitors from abroad, one of the pleasures of visiting France is to enjoy wandering through a traditional French Market. And why not! The market, “le marché,” is an integral part of life in virtually all French towns and large villages, so much so that even today the market can be seen as a well surviving part of France’s historic heritage. Today we will buy fresh produce, cheeses and such to begin our week of cooking with Chef Tasha. Once back at the ‘ranch’ you will have your first cooking lesson, the product of which will be served for dinner.

Wednesday, Day Four – La Route Des Vins

After Brunch on the terrace, we will head out to a few of the many fabulous wineries in the region where we sample the local wines. Provence and the Cote D’Azur span several very different winemaking regions. It starts in Toulon, heads down to Saint-Tropez across the vineyards that cling to the edge of the Mediterranean, then turns inland towards the foothills of Mount Saint Victoire and to the Luberon Valley. Through classical Provencal landscapes of lavender fields and olive groves there are stunning views all around.

Thursday, Day Five

We will take an excursion to nearby Cassis which has a very mild micro-climate all year round. You will board a boat (weather and waves permitting) and tour the lovely Calanques which are majestic stunning geological formations along the coast in the region from Cassis to Marseilles. You will enjoy a picnic lunch that will feature local cheeses and charcuterie, seasonal fruits and vegetables. Weather permitting, you may have the chance to swim in the Mediterranean Sea! Evening cooking class with Chef Tasha featuring Mediterranean cuisine.

Friday, Day Six – Lourmarin

After breakfast you will have the opportunity to visit Lourmarin. It sits prettily in a valley, separating the Grand Luberon Mountains from the Petit Luberon, one of the most beautiful villages in the region. On sunny days, its golden stone glows against a swath of green, marshy land. Friday is market day in Lourmarin, it is reputed as one of the best in the region. Once we get to Lourmarin you have the morning to shop at the market and walk through the village. We will stop for lunch nearby. On the way back to Eguilles, we will tour a winery at the foothills of Saint Victoire, Cezanne’s mountain which is represented in a large percentage of his paintings.

Saturday, Day Seven – Departure Day

Breakfast today will be ongoing until noon and will be available for any early departures. We hope you have enjoyed your week in Provence.

Bon Voyage!
